CAMPAIGN TO BUILD

Hope in Red Deer

The Vision:

Hope and healing for the next generation

Since 1929, Hope Mission’s mandate has been to provide meals and care for men, women, and children in need. Olivia is one of many children who come to Hope Mission in need of help. After her dad suddenly became unable to work due to a serious car accident, they couldn’t make ends meet and ended up at Hope Mission. “Just when we thought we didn’t have enough to get by…the Hope Mission showed up.”

This is Hope Mission’s purpose: partnering with you to give hope to families like Olivia’s. We believe that the provision of meals and other basic needs can be the first step in healing generational cycles of poverty and rescuing kids and families from the brink of homelessness and despair.

We know there will always be kids like Olivia who need help. That’s why today, I’d like to invite you to partner with us in an exciting and bold new vision to see the lives of kids and families transformed for generations to come.

The Need:

We need a centre of hope for Red Deer’s most vulnerable families

The rising cost of living has left vulnerable kids and families in Red Deer struggling unlike any other time in recent memory. Now, especially with rising rates of poverty, families who were already barely making ends meet are going hungry.

As I look to the future, I’m very concerned for the increasing number of hungry kids in our community — these kids are our future. Up until this point, we’ve supported as many as we can, but without a proper facility in Red Deer, we won’t be able to deepen our impact like we have in other Alberta cities. There has never been a more important time to rally together as a community to build a brighter future for all children.

The Plan

A beautiful building that will welcome families in and give them hope!

Red-Deer-Building

This project is about so much more than just a building. It’s about increasing our capacity to meet the rising needs we’re seeing every day in Red Deer. It’s about planting our roots in the centre of that need so that every child has a chance to reach their full potential. It’s about rebuilding lives.

Over many decades, we’ve developed a proven model that helps families build community and connection so that they can experience lifechange. This building will be a central hub for kids and families to come eat a meal, participate in a program, learn new skills, develop healthy relationships, and ultimately know that they are loved and are not alone.

Community Gardens

Just imagine the hope that will grow alongside these community gardens because of you!

A Brand-New Dedicated Kitchen

Up until now we haven't had adequate space to prepare meals in Red Deer. With a brand-new dedicated kitchen we'll be able to prepare healthy and delicious meals for many more struggling Red Deer families!

Play Field

Plenty of outdoor space for summer day camps and more!

A Wide-Open Gym

A wide-open gym will be the heart of the centre - an amazing space to host regular community dinners and transformative programs for vulnerable kids!

A Central Location

We'll be in a central location to a number of the schools we currently serve. Thanks to a generous partnership with a local church, we now have the land required for the project.

Multi-Purpose Rooms

Multi-purpose rooms will allow us to host special classes on budgeting, cooking, and more!

We Need Your Help:

Your gift will rebuild lives in Red Deer!

The total cost of the new building is approximately $6.5 million. To make this vision a reality, we are looking to raise support from caring and compassionate people like you. This will enable us to move this project forward without delays for the sake of the children. This is a critical juncture for our city, for Hope Mission, and most importantly, for the lives of many children and families in Red Deer. We need to become a city that builds hope — especially for our most vulnerable kids and families — and we need your help!

I am asking you to prayerfully consider a gift before December 31 to help build a Hope Mission Centre in Red Deer where children and families can experience a brand-new chapter of hope.

Your kindness will transform the face of care for the vulnerable in Red Deer and will bring hope and healing to this community. We can’t do this without you.

Thank you for your heart of compassion. Together, we can lift families out of poverty and give them hope.
