Anyone interested in working in emergency shelters, janitorial or maintenance is welcome to attend. Attendees are asked to bring a resume and cover letter stating why they want to work in emergency shelters, janitorial or maintenance. There will be a quick interview and candidates may be hired on the spot.
Staff will be hired on contract until April 30, 2024, with potential of being brought on as permanent full-time staff after that time.

Casual Outreach Worker
Based at: Red Deer
Job Summary:
As a casual outreach worker, you will assist with leading before and after school programs for children and youth in Red Deer Schools. You will support with food and activity preparation, hosting and interacting with students, and a variety of other tasks to serve, strengthen, and uplift children and families.

Volunteer Coordinator
Based at: Downtown, Edmonton
Job Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator position is primarily focused on recruiting, organizing, and scheduling volunteers to support Hope Mission programs operating in downtown Edmonton. In addition, this position helps to organize events and activities that promote Hope Mission programs.

Warehouse Associate
Based at: 7011 Girard Road, Edmonton
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for helping to maintain a safe and organized warehouse where donations are received and stored. The Warehouse Associate will collaborate with other staff to ensure that donations are sorted and delivered to the appropriate locations.

Outreach Worker Kitchen
Based at: R. W. Tegler Youth Centre (Edmonton)
Job Summary:
A Kitchen Outreach worker at the Tegler Youth Centre will work with the kitchen team to prep and deliver bagged lunches to schools as part of the School Nutrition Program, and deliver monthly food hampers to families.
Hours of work:
PART TIME/CASUAL. Shifts will vary from 7am-12pm and 7am-3pm. Monday-Friday. TEMPORARILY up to 24 hrs/week for approx. 4-6 weeks. No guaranteed shifts after.

Based at: Hope Mission Edmonton Downtown
Job Summary:
- Responsible for food preparation at the Hope Mission Centre in Edmonton which includes: sorting, washing, and peeling, chopping, slicing, cooking of food and other kitchen related duties determined by the Food Services Manager
- Responsible for menu planning (aligning with Canada food guide), food ordering & inventory in coordination with the Food Services Manager
- Responsible for overseeing staff and volunteers who are scheduled to serve in the kitchen ensuring they are trained and following AHS food preparation standards
- Maintain excellent serving and cleaning standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- Maintain a positive and safe kitchen environment.
- Ability to work well with staff, volunteers, and guests of the program.
Hours of work:
40 hours per week

Shelter Intake Worker
Based at: Downtown, Edmonton
Job Summary: The Intake Worker will work directly with community members experiencing homelessness in Edmonton, helping to provide them with emergency shelter and support services. The critical tasks of this position are to facilitate a warm, welcoming and supportive atmosphere, develop relationships and ensure that safety is maintained.

HMRV Support Worker
Based at: Calgary
Job Summary: The Hope Mission Rescue Van (HMRV) program provides mobile outreach services to vulnerable community members in need of assistance and support. The program partners with first responders such as law enforcement, emergency medical services and fire rescue services to: 1.) provide a more appropriate response to non-emergency crisis situations; and 2.) to free up first responder services to respond to more appropriate emergency calls. In addition to this, the program responds to calls from businesses and the general public through a mobile cell phone that goes directly to our teams.

Fundraising Creative Strategist – Downtown, Edmonton

Janitorial Worker

Job Summary: The janitorial worker position is responsible for the sanitation of Hope Mission buildings, using chemicals, tools and machines to clean the buildings on a set schedule.
