Nurse Practitioner

Location: Edmonton

Hours Per Shift: 8

Shifts: Days Only

Status: Full time, permanent

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our nursing-based clinic within our shelter. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting overall wellness for the shelter community. Clients within the shelter setting often have difficulty accessing a prescriber and you will be able to fill this gap by diagnosing and treating various medical conditions as well as providing valuable patient education on health management.

Outreach Worker
Kids and Youth Programs

Location: R. W. Tegler Youth Centre (3805 118 Ave NW Edmonton, AB)

Hours Per Shift: 8

Shifts: Shifts will vary from 10am-6pm and 12pm-8pm. Monday-Friday

Status: Full time, permanent

Job Summary: An Outreach worker at the Tegler Youth Centre will work with the Outreach team to run after-school programs for children and youth (ages 6-18) both at the centre and in the community/schools..

On Site Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)

Location: Downtown, Edmonton

Hours Per Shift: 8

Shifts: 40hrs per week, Mon-Fri

Status: Full time, permanent

Job Summary: The on-site Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) position will focus on providing medical services around Hope Mission sites downtown. This could include inside or outside of Hope Mission property. The medical services provided will be both emergency response and general health services, such as wound-care, drug poisoning response, etc. This position will work closely with the Hope Mission Nursing Clinic and will report to the Hope Mission Health Services Coordinator.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Location: Edmonton

Hours Per Shift: 8

Shifts: 40hrs per week, Mon-Fri

Status: Full time, permanent

Job Summary: This position functions as part of a diverse team within a Homeless Shelter/ Addictions & Recovery setting. Clients present with various physical, mental and social health concerns – as well as challenges with addictions. The licensed practical nurse utilizes clinical expertise, critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making skills, and a health promotion approach to provide holistic care to clients. As a licensed practical nurse, you will use your nursing skills to advocate for clients and complete health teaching and promotion. You will work to continually increase your knowledge of and relationship with community resources to be able to guide clients to the appropriate facilities to meet their whole health needs and goals. Within the parameters of your license and scope of practice, you will safely provide hands-on care to clients as able.

The successful applicant will work to intentionally connect with and build relationships and rapport with clients so as to assist them in identifying and achieving their physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health goals. The nurse will be mobile in their care, able to safely provide services within their scope of practice at Hope Mission’s various Edmonton-based shelters, recovery sites, and rescue vans as needed.

Shelter Operations Coordinator

Location: Edmonton

Hours Per Shift: 10

Shifts: (1PM-11PM, Monday-Thursday) 40 hours per week

Status: Full time, permanent

Job Summary: The Shelter Operations Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and direct management of our shelter operations, staff supervision, and the implementation of shelter policies and procedures. The Shelter Operations Coordinator works in a fast-paced environment, collaborates with other departments and programs, and cares for staff well-being, in order to maximize the quality of service to Hope Mission clients and community members. The Shelter Operations Coordinator is responsible for directing frontline workers in their services of community members with physical, mental, and social health concerns and addiction challenges. The Shelter Operations Coordinator will also assist with other duties as assigned by the Shelter Manager.
