What is the Hope Mission Family of Charities?

Starting in 2024, two international charities came under the umbrella of Hope Mission.

Those two charities are Mission to Children and Emmanuel Foundation. All three organizations are under the same banner, however, they each still maintain their unique vision, mission and purpose. More information on these organizations can be found at www.efoundation.ca and www.missiontochildren.ca

Only designated donations will go towards our international work.

Where does my money go?

Our expenses can be broken up into 3 categories:

Program Costs: 90%

How do I Volunteer?

What is Hope Mission doing to help prevent the types of poverty we see downtown?

Hope Mission is heavily engaged in prevention work across Alberta, serving children, youth, and families across the province to fight food insecurity, mentor youth, provide free children’s programs and recreation opportunities to low income households, and have safe spaces for people to gather together as communities.

We also serve more than 75 schools (and counting!) with school meal programs to help children who are facing food insecurity be able to focus on their studies instead of on the hunger in the bellies.

In addition to all of this, we offer overnight summer camps to kids in Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary, and horseback riding programs in Wetaskiwin through Bethany Home.

How many people come to Hope Mission every night?

In the busiest times of the year, Hope Mission serves over 1,000 people each day.

In the past year we had nearly 9,000 unique individuals who came through the doors of our shelter in need of hot meals, a warm bed, and life-changing care.

We also serve more than 2,000 hot meals per day, over 4,500 sandwiches, and thousands of school lunches to dozens of schools across the province.

Can I give to Hope Mission by donating my car?

Yes! We work with Donate A Car Canada. Just visit our page on their website to get started – Donate | Charity Car Removal.
