Donor Relations

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship and Engagement

The Donor Relations Coordinator is a key member of our team, responsible for cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, ensuring accurate and timely communication, and providing excellent stewardship that reflects our Christian values. This individual will be responsible for donor database management, donor engagement, gift processing, and assisting with fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate is organized, relational, and passionate about advancing the mission of Mission to Children and Hope Mission—bringing hope through meals, care, and the gospel.

  • Maintain accurate donor records
  • Run donor reports and assist in donor segmentation and analysis

    Program Coordinator

    Job Summary:

    The Calgary Program Coordinator will provide leadership to various programs and frontline staff in Calgary in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith of Hope Mission, and direction of the Calgary Program Manager.

    The Calgary Program Coordinator will spend approximately 40% of their time leading and developing programs for the students and families in Calgary and Chestermere. 35% of their role will be committed to training, developing, and discipling the staff under their leadership. The remaining 25% of the role will be focused on building and maintaining connections with schools, churches and other organizations in Chestermere and Strathmore with the goal of growing our outreach programs in these areas.

    Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated nurse to join the nurse-led clinic within our Calgary based Dayspace. As a nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting overall wellness for the vulnerably housed community. Clients present with various physical, psychological, and social health concerns, as well as challenges with addictions. The community health nurse uses their clinical expertise and critical thinking to provide holistic care to clients. The successful candidate will continuously increase their knowledge of and relationship with community resources to guide clients to the appropriate areas to meet their health needs. The nurse will provide leadership and guidance to shelter staff colleagues on methods to promote the health and safety of both staff and clients. The nurse will also be mobile in their care, able to safely provide services within the shelter and the property immediately surrounding it.

    Housing Outreach Worker

    Location: Downtown, Edmonton

    Hours Per Shift: 40hrs per week, Mon-Fri

    Job Summary: The Housing Outreach Worker assists program participants to find and secure safe, suitable and sustainable housing as well as supporting them with the related services that are part of that process.

    Rapid Response Program Manager

    Job Summary: The Rapid Response Program Manager provides leadership and coordination for our 24/7 Paramedic Program, delivering emergency medical services across the shelter network. This role ensures high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care while enhancing integration with other health and shelter programs. The Manager oversees operations, supports staff development, and drives quality improvement through strategic direction and mentorship.

    This role is ideal for a leader who is passionate about both frontline care and systems improvement—someone who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

    Family Physician/General Practitioner

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Christian family physician to join the health clinic within our emergency shelter system. The clinic is currently staffed with a medical director, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, primary care paramedics, emergency response technicians, health care aids, social workers, and administrative staff. The clinic currently focuses on providing episodic and gap care for patients without attachment to a primary care provider. Your role would include support for the clinics to enhance their capacity for diagnosis and management of these patients.  A new program is also being developed to provide more intensive care for patients referred from Emergency Departments who do not meet criteria for hospital admission, but who require more care than can be provided for patients with unstable housing.  As a family physician/general practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting overall wellness for the vulnerably housed community.  For patients transferred from Emergency Departments who require a longer length of stay with medical oversight, you will complete admission assessments, monitor the progress of care and determine when the need for this level of care has been met (i.e. Admission, Progress and Discharge).  In both the clinic and short term stay unit, you would support accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment and patient education on health-related matters.

This role is crucial in nurturing and strengthening relationships with Hope Mission’s valued donors, ensuring supporters feel appreciated, informed, and connected to the mission and understand the impact of their generosity. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Hope Mission’s work, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be dedicated to fostering a culture of gratitude and partnership with our donor community. They will be excited about fundraising to support the vulnerable.

    Nurse Practitioner

    Based At: Edmonton, AB

    Hours Per Shift: 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts available, as per provider’s preference

    Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join the Nursing-based clinic within our emergency shelter system and locations. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting overall wellness for the vulnerably housed community. Clients within this setting often have difficulty accessing a primary care provider and you will be able to fill this gap by diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, as well as providing valuable patient education on health management. As an experienced Nurse Practitioner, you will also provide mentorship and guidance to fellow colleagues and health professionals.

    Support Worker

    Location: Calgary

    Hours Per Shift: Casual

    Job Summary: Hope Mission provides care for the vulnerable and the marginalized in Calgary through a number of programs including the Home Mission Rescue Van (HMRV) and the Calgary Wellness Hub. HMRV provides mobile outreach services to vulnerable community members partnering with first responders, businesses and other community stakeholders to provide a more appropriate response to non-emergency crisis situations. The Calgary Wellness Hub supports the community by providing supports that address immediate needs such as food, clothing and hygiene supports, while also providing supports that promote long-term wellness such as housing access facilitation, resource navigation, etc. The Casual Support Worker may support any of these programs.

    Chaplain

    Based At: The Hub, Calgary

    Hours of work: Full time: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day

    Job Summary: The Chaplain position focuses on providing Christian spiritual care to community members accessing Hope Mission services. The position is flexible and open-ended, but ultimately aims to share the love of Christ with people in need. This can be done by showing love, kindness, and compassion and thereby cultivating hope. This position can also connect people with services and resources to help people exit homelessness and improve their wellbeing.

    This position will also focus on providing cultural awareness training and input into additional staff training concerns to promote wellness and care.

    Outreach Worker

    Horse Program Instructor

    Based At: Hope Mission Bethany Homes – Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada

    Hours Per Shift: 40 hours/week Monday-Friday (some evening & weekend work required)

    Position Duration: Begin in winter of 2026. One year contract with full-time permanent possibilities.

    Job Summary: Support a team to develop character and promote healthy choices in children and youth (ages 5-18) through the horse program. Provide support to at risk children and youth in the Wetaskiwin & Camrose area. To fulfill the vision and purpose of the various horse programs and events that happen at Bethany Homes throughout the year. Provide horsemanship instruction that is safe, fun, creative and competent to groups of riders that function within the established six-year horsemanship structure. To provide care and support to a small team of staff. Alongside this team you will promote and provide proper health to the herd of horses. To support and aid other Hope Mission programs as needed.

    Primary Care Paramedic

    Location: Edmonton, AB

    Hours Per Shift: Casual

    Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) to join the health care team within our emergency shelter.As a PCP, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during emergency responses and wellness checks for the vulnerably housed community. The successful candidate will be able to take rapid assessments and treatment decisions, as well as coordinate care with internal health colleagues and external emergency services. The PCP will contribute to providing leadership and guidance to shelter staff colleagues on methods to promote the health and safety of both staff and clients. The PCP will be mobile in their care, able to safely provide services within the shelter and the property immediately surrounding it.
